Your Pre-Flight Checklist For Flying With Your Pets This Summer!
May 7th, 2012 by admin
Pet Jets Travel Club owners certainly consider their pet(s) onboard aircraft as not just another piece of luggage-it’s a family member and they are treated accordingly. Despite the red-carpet treatment that many pets receive onboard private aircraft, pet ownersmust understand that dogs and cats can experience many of the same reactions and sensations that people do when flying, including airsickness, anxiety and dehydration. Owners must take the time to learn their pets’ behavior and to ensure that their furry friends will be secure and calm in the airplane. Before charterig an anircraft, here are some tips to condider:
- Take a trial run. Take your pet on a long trial run in the car before bringing it aboard an aircraft for the first time. Pets needs to be relaxed. That makes it less likely to become overly stressed, which can trigger urination and defecation. Emergency stops in private jets aren’t as possible as they are in the car!
- Teach your dog to sit. Having a dog who knows how to obey basic verbal commands such as “sit” and “down” can be very useful during a flight in the event the animal begins to pace and act nervous during the flight. I you can get youre pet to sit and lay down, this will allow it to breathe more slowly and focus its attention on you and being calm.
- Bring Your Own Water. Some pets are especially picky about the kind of water they drink. If they’re used to filtered water at home, they might not drink tap water offered at the airport or on the jet. Make sure your pet will drink water from various sources or, if it refuses, bring a gallon of his regular water onboard the flight.
- Stock favorite foods. Pack your pet’s favorite food, along with enough of their food and treats!
- Consider carriers. Pet owners must consider how the animal will be restrained during the flight, especially during takeoff and landing, turbulence, or flying with other pets. Smaller pets, such as toy-sized dogs and most cats, can be safely carried onboard in the same sort of handheld plastic crate or canvas bag one would use for bringing the animal onto an airline flight. Larger dogs may require a harness or padded crate.
- Visit your vet for a pre-flight physical. If you have any concerns with flying your pet, visit your pet. This is especially important for an older pet or one that might be quite anxious if this will be their first flight. Dogs and cats tend to be less susceptible than humans to pressurization-related ear and sinus discomfort because their auditory tubes are larger. Also, there is little evidence that they suffer from jet lag because, well, they sleep most of the day, anyway. It’s also a good idea to know the name of a veterinarian in your destination city in case your pet should get sick during the trip and your personal vet could certainly give you a referal.
- Research foreign rules. Do your homework before flying your pet outside the U.S. Information on traveling with pets throughout the European Union, for example, can be found at www.defra.gov.uk. Bring a copy of the pet’s rabies vaccination certificate on any foreign trip. Ask, too, about any regulations governing transport of animals into the country.
- Microchips. If you’re thinking about having a microchip ID implanted in your pet check with your destination country’s embassy to find out which chips are recognized there. Ask, too, about any regulations governing transport of animals into the country. Many veterinarians offer a procedure costing less than $100, wherein a microchip containing a unique electronic identification code is inserted under the pet’s skin. If the pet ever runs away and is later brought to a veterinarian or animal shelter, its identity number can be retrieved from the microchip via a scan. The number can then be entered into a database of registered pets, which would reveal your contact information and most likely lead to a happy reunion. Several companies manufacture these chips and scanners, including AVID (www.avidmicrochip.com), Home Again (www.homeagainid.com) and Pet-ID (www.petid.com).
Fying with your pets in the cabin of an FAA approved air carrier is becoming one of the few options pet owners have as the scheduled airlines continue to ban certain breeds and the growing concern for pets traveling in the cargo compartments, especially in the hot summer months. Pets are members of the family and should fly in the cabin, however, special considerations and planning is required when flying in private jet aircraft. Corporate Jet Charter – Your Mobile Office in the Sky
January 28th, 2012 by admin
Imagine being able to transplant your office whenever you felt the need. Imagine being able to pack it up and take it with you wherever you went. And finally, imagine being able to take your best workers with you too. Along the way, you all continue to run your business like a well oiled machine—never missing a beat. “Yeah right, that’ll never happen,” you’re saying to yourself. But you’re wrong. This is exactly what you’ll get when you choose a corporate jet charter. It’s your own mobile office in the sky.
Why fly with outsiders?
If you’re reading this article, then frequent travel is a way of life for you and your employees. In fact, you may find that you spend more days in the air than you do at your home base. It’s just the nature of your business. And up to this point, you have been booking commercial flights. Sure, you have probably been racking up the frequent flyer miles and getting some cool freebies along the way, but guess what you haven’t been getting? Your work done.
Here’s what it boils down to: when you are on a commercial flight, you just cannot be productive. You are squished up against other people with little room to work. Spreading out your papers and your laptop are pretty much impossible. Not to mention there are so many distractions surrounding you that you won’t be able to think anything other than “get me off of here!”
Yet a corporate jet charter offers something different. Think of it as your own private conference room. Here you and your trusted employees or coworkers can huddle around and discuss important business while traveling. Have top secret information you need to share? No problem. There are no outsider ears listening in.
The result? You quit wasting all that time you spend in the air. Instead, productivity increases. And when productivity increases, guess what happens to company profits? They soar.
Sometimes you need flexibility—and commercial flights can’t give it to you
How many times have you needed to get somewhere quick and unexpectedly? Perhaps a major client has suddenly become disenchanted and needs some personal persuasion. Or maybe a lead just turned hot and you need some face time to make sure you turn the conversation into a conversion. So you try and book a flight and find that the times just won’t work out for you. And of course, there’s no flexibility. When the giant jet leaves is, well, when the giant jet leaves.
You can solve that problem with a corporate jet charter. It’s the ultimate in travel flexibility. If you suddenly need to pick up and fly you and your team across the United States, all you need to do is pick up the phone, make the arrangements, and you’re off. All the strict rules of the commercial flights, done away with.
Stay productive while traveling
Why waste time? Research has concluded that a corporate jet charter increases productivity. There’s no downside–just profits soaring through the roof right along with your private jet.

Pet Jets Announces New Pet Travel Club
June 14th, 2011 by admin
In response to the pet jets share-a-flight program created last year and featured in Forbes.com and The Wall Street Journal.com, Pet Jets has created the Pet Jets Travel Club. According to Pet Jets owner, Brian Fiske, “it is clear that that there is a need for alternative air transportation for pet owners worldwide with the concern pet owners have with commercial air carriers. While there has been a great deal of interest in Pet Jets, the costs associated with private aircraft charter is expensive, especially with current fuel prices for many pet owners. Pet Jets Travel Club is an opportunity for a pet owner to share the cost of a charter with other pet owners interested in a similar flight.” Pet owners are able to have their flight requests posted to the members only site and other members are able view the posted requests. If there is a match of pet owners interested in the same flight, Pet Jets works with club members to locate the best aircraft at the best price via its network of FAA approved private aircraft carriers. Pet Jets does not own and operated aircraft, but provides its members with travel consulting and concierge services as part of its annual travel club membership fee. Annual travel club membership fees are deducted off the first aircraft charter for new members. Other membership benefits are explained on the www.PetJets.Net website. To join our exciting exclusive pet travel club or for more information, you may also email us at info@PetJets.net.

Fly with Your Pet this Summer Without Worry!
May 18th, 2011 by admin
With the hot days of summer approaching, many pet owners are hesitant to travel with their pets with the airlines, especially when pets are flying in the cargo hold or being transported to and from aircraft on hot airport ramps. Pet Jets understands that there are few options and we continue to seek charter aircraft options for pet owners. While chartering aircraft is expensive, many individuals are finding the expense worth the price for that special family vacation, relocating for a new job, or simply to reduce the stress of leaving a pet home. With many new pet-friendly hotels, many people are flying in private aircraft on business or vacation trips with their favorite pet companion. Call Pet Jets for a charter quote at 1-888-400-3963 or email them at : info@petjets.net

Why Do Companies Rely On Business Aviation?
March 29th, 2011 by admin
While companies that rely on business aviation represent many different professions and locations, they all have one thing in common: the need for fast, flexible, safe, secure and cost-effective access to destinations across the country and around the world. In many instances, business aviation is the appropriate transportation solution, opening the door to global commerce for small-community and rural populations by linking them directly to population centers and manufacturing facilities. The benefits of business aviation are clear:
•Business aviation allows for efficient, flexible, safe, secure and cost-effective access to destinations across the country and around the world. Because employees can meet, plan and work with each other aboard business aircraft, productivity en route is greatly enhanced.
•In many instances, business aviation is the best or only transportation option available, opening the door to global commerce for small-community and rural populations by linking them directly to population centers and manufacturing facilities. Studies have also shown that business aviation contributes greatly to local economies across the country.
•Business aircraft allow employees to make a trip involving stops at several locations, then return to headquarters the same day. Hundreds or thousands of dollars can be saved on hotel rooms, rental cars, meals and other expenses that would be needed to make the same trip over several days via auto, train or airline transport.

Operation Orange Dog
March 8th, 2011 by admin
Sometimes we’re so busy flying around in these amazing machines we all call home, or the office, or simply the plane that we no longer see the heart beating inside. It’s easy to get caught up in the media hype and even downplay using or working on a private jet.
I had an experience last weekend that will make you all walk a little taller if you have anything to do with this industry:
On a beautiful morning on the ramp at Global Exec Aviation in Long Beach just before sunrise, 60 small crates with 60 small dogs were neatly lined up below a GIII waiting to be loaded, with their foster parents looking on. They were leaving California to find their “fur-ever” family through the combined efforts of a great organization: Orange Dog and the Edmonton (Canada) Humane Society.
Orange Dog founder, Jan Folk was busy going from carrier to carrier getting to know each of her guests personally before boarding – and so was I. Jan had learned that there was a demand for these small dogs in Edmonton; she also knew that the shelters in southern California where she lives were overflowing with these little cuties, with little hope for adoption. It just seemed natural to her to load up a plane and take as many as she could up there the right way instead of shipping them in cargo. This was her fifth trip.
I learned about Orange Dog’s Freedom Flights and offered the help of Sit ‘n Stay Global, since we specialize in flight attendants who work on private jets and are specifically trained in Pet Safety Protocols, Pet First Aid and CPR. Jan was kind enough to accept my offer and I was honored to be included as a guest on this most recent Freedom Flight. What an amazing experience! The feeling of something “good” happening was pervasive. Everyone worked together; every step of the process went smoothly since everyone had the same goal in mind.
Once in the air you might think it was a bit chaotic with 60 pups on board, but a wonderful sense of calm descended upon the cabin in flight. It was as if they knew something good was happening. A few of them had a bit to say, but like any human passenger they calmed right down if I just went back and listened to them for a few minutes. Truly, it was far calmer than a full flight of humans to Teterboro . . .
We landed to one of the most joyous celebrations I have ever seen. It out-did most rock star arrivals . . . these pups were home! I thought some of them would be adopted before they left the ramp. They all took it in their stride, seeming to know that this was the best day of the rest of their life. There were volunteers everywhere that scooped them up and took them off to the Edmonton Humane Society which is a truly amazing facility that revolutionizes how animals are treated in shelters. I learned they wouldn’t last long there though, due to the amazing work the EHS and Orange Dog had done to get the word out that these dogs were on their way. There was actually a waiting list for each dog that had gone from virtually unadoptable to rock star in a single day. All it took was someone caring enough to use what they had available to make a difference.
So take a long look at that beautiful shiny tube as you approach it next time and realize what truly important things it can accomplish. Sure, we get a lot of business done up there and it is a great convenience and time saver. It enhances security and cuts all sorts of red tape, but it can also be used as a real instrument for good and can change lives and we can each be a part of it. Believe me, it feels really good!

The CJ4 has arrived!
September 21st, 2010 by admin
The Citation CJ4, certified in March by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration, is the newest and largest member of the popular CJ family of business jets consisting of the Citation CJ1+, CJ2+ and CJ3. The CJ4 is approved for single-pilot operations and shares a common pilot type rating with the other CJs. (A pilot rated to fly any one of the CJs is rated to fly them all). Retail price in 2010 dollars for a typically equipped Citation CJ4 is $9 million.
GreenTrak is a proprietary system, the first offered by a general aviation manufacturer, that uses a process known as cost indexing to minimize total trip cost by balancing the costs of direct operation, fuel burn and carbon emissions.
The Citation CJ4 has a range of just over 2,000 nautical miles (3,710 km) and a top speed of 453 knots (839 kph) – both numbers greater than originally announced in 2006. It has a takeoff roll of 3,130 feet (954 meters) at maximum takeoff weight and is capable of a direct climb to 45,000 feet (13,716 meters) in just 28 minutes.
The Citation CJ4 features a four-screen Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite, new Williams FJ44-4A electronically controlled (FADEC) engines, and it debuts the Rockwell Collins Venue cabin management system.
Standard on the CJ4 are dual Mode S Diversity transponders with enhanced surveillance and ADS-B out capability, TCAS II, Class A TAWS, multi-scan weather radar, broadcast weather and a maintenance diagnostic system. If your interested in chartering or purchasing an aircraft like the CJ4, contact the professionals at Hollywood Jets for free consulting services.

Silk Road transforms as the day evolves, from fresh and lively at daybreak to chic and sexy at nightfall.
• Art. For Vdara, Nancy Rubins created one of the most visually stunning works of art at CityCenterwith “Big Edge.” Measuring approximately 57 feet wide and 75 feet long, “Big Edge” is a colorful composition of numerous aluminum rowboats, canoes and other small river and ocean vessels finessed into a gravity-defying form that Rubins calls “a blooming flower.” Peter Wegner developed “Day for Night, Night for Day” 2009, comprised of two wall pieces, one solar-themed soaring approximately 45 feet and one lunar-themed reaching approximately 34 feet, each made of stacked, colored paper. Displayed on the east and west walls of Vdara’s concierge lobby, respectively, the works follow the natural pattern of the sun. Vdara also acquired Frank Stella’s “Damascus Gate Variation I,” 1969. Displayed behind the check-in desk, the piece features a design of interlaced semicircles made of fluorescent alkyd resin on a 96 x 384 inch shaped canvas. Numerous suites feature views of the Bellagio Fountains.

Vdara Health & Beauty, an 18,000-square-foot, two-level spa, salon and advanced fitness facility, is a sensuous spa sanctuary that spotlights holistic health and well-being in an intimate environment. Comprised of 11 treatment rooms and three distinct relaxation lounges, it offers a selection of signature treatments that use quality ingredients derived from organic herbs, flowers, fruits, vegetables and essential oils. Vdara Health & Beauty is the first Las Vegas spa to be a member of the Green Spa Network.
• Bar and Lounge. Bar Vdara, an eclectic lobby lounge, is a chic setting that works as well for a morning espresso as it does for a late-night cocktail. Crystals retail and entertainment district – December 3, 2009
Crystals houses more than 500,000 square feet of sophisticated retail and dining. Designed by Studio Daniel Libeskind* with interior architecture by David Rockwell and Rockwell Group, Crystals combines dramatic architecture with exclusive offerings from the world’s most elite brands.
• Architecture. Libeskind conceived Crystals’ exterior to be a dynamic sculpture that presents a work of art from every angle. The multi-faceted, brilliant glass canopy depicts the intricate beauty of a quartz crystal that welcomes an abundance of natural light into the stunning three-level experiential environment.
• Atmosphere. Within Crystals, Rockwell was inspired to create an abstract 21st century park that reintroduces and celebrates nature and the seasons. A central element of this design is the three-story sculptural treehouse that reaches 70 feet from the ground level to frame an oculus in the roof. Visible throughout Crystals, the treehouse serves as a meeting point for guests and unfolds on the second level to surround the terrace seating at Mastro’s Ocean Club. Crystals also features “changeable artwork” in the way of abstract hanging gardens, a flower carpet and more. As the seasons change, so does the artwork and it all is offset by intriguing murals and spectacular water features.
• Retailers. An incredible array of prestigious brands includes the largest Louis Vuitton store in North America, as well as flagship stores for Tiffany & Co., Prada, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, and Ermenegildo Zegna, all presented under Crystals’ multi-faceted canopy of unprecedented brilliance. Unique-to-the-market retailers include TOM FORD, Carolina Herrera, Paul Smith, Kiton, Kiki De Montparnasse, Marni, Assouline, H. Stern, Tourbillon, Porsche Design, de Grisogono, Lanvin and rLo Gallery (Rodney Lough Jr. Wilderness Collections Gallery).
• Dining. Restaurants debuting their first Las Vegas locations at Crystals include Eva Longoria Parker’s Beso and Mastro’s Ocean Club, joined by an exciting new pub concept – Todd English P.U.B. Wolfgang Puck offers two innovative new restaurant concepts, The Pods by Wolfgang Puck and Brasserie PUCK, a French-style brasserie which features interpretations of traditional French classics.
• Art. In The Park between ARIA and Crystals, guests discover Henry Moore’s “Reclining Connected Forms,” 1969-1974, a sculpture inspired by the fundamentals of the human experience. Measuring approximately 10 feet tall and 17 feet long by 7 feet deep, the abstract work of art displays a baby wrapped in its mother’s embrace.

Veer Towers
Veer Towers, CityCenter’s most unique residential development, is a masterful translation of energy and excitement into physical form; its two 37-story glass towers shimmer day and night. Inclined at five-degree angles – a feature celebrated by the development’s name – the towers seem to dance with each other.
• Architecture. Architect Helmut Jahn conceived Veer Towers to symbolize spirit and optimism with a strong iconic value; by leaning them they became a sculpture. Lobbies and public spaces by notable designer Francisco Gonzalez-Pulido** showcase impressive works of glass and metal with plenty of natural light.
• Residences. Each tower houses approximately 335 modern condominium residences ranging from 500 to nearly 3,300 square feet, available in studios, deluxe studios, one-, two- and three-bedroom residences and penthouses. Open floor plans feature floor-to-ceiling and wall-to-wall windows that capture spectacular views of Las Vegas and the surrounding CityCenter. Light-filled rooms, natural textures and a range of whites infuse streamlined interiors with openness. Modern kitchens, living and dining areas are ideal for entertaining while spacious spa-styled bathrooms invite retreat. Contemporary residences offer European-style features and designer-selected fixtures.
• Amenities. Atop each striking tower, residents enjoy an amenities floor featuring an unequaled view of Las Vegas complemented by an infinity-edge pool, hot tub, a sun deck and a patio for outdoor entertaining. Within, Veer features recreation rooms for special events or casual celebrations, private media rooms with panoramic windows, a fitness center with men’s and women’s steam rooms, and a business center.
• Art. On display at Veer Towers are two large-scale commissioned works by Richard Long. Entitled “Circle of Chance” and “Earth,” Long’s two mud wall drawings each measure approximately 80 feet high by 50 feet wide. For Long, the natural world provides both the palette and the canvas on which he manifests his earthworks. In some cases, he brings the outside in. For Veer, he created a viscous paint by diluting mud and then carefully applying it to the walls with his hands, resulting in extraordinary images fashioned from purely mundane materials. The two large-scale works engulf the west and east walls, respectively. Long transported the mud to Las Vegas from the River Avon, which runs through his home town of Bristol, England.
• Entertainment. Veer Towers rise from Crystals, CityCenter’s spectacular retail and entertainment district, giving residents unprecedented access to the best of stylish, big city living. Upscale dining, lavish shopping, electric nightlife and entertainment are just steps away.
